Vino Naranja gets its DO!

In the andalucian province of Huelva they have made Vino Naranja, Orange Wine, for more then 200 years.
Regardless the very old tradition it is very recently, a couple of months ago, that “Vino Naranja del Condado de Huelva” got its protection as a “Denominacion de Origen” product.
This very delicate wine takes many years to produce as the base wine, most often made from the local grape variety Zalema, is aged in oak barrels in a criadera/solera system.
Our own favourite Orange Wine is made by the small family owned bodega Sauci in Bollullos.
